Good news for Vasalgel! Ed Gillis has joined the team as CEO of Revolution Contraceptives, LLC, the social venture company that is developing Vasalgel under the umbrella of Parsemus Foundation. Ed has a history of leadership in early-stage medical companies, most recently as CEO and CTO at ReVENT Medical, Inc. — a company he founded.

Ed previously held senior-level executive positions in engineering, research and development, manufacturing, and product development for a number of medical product companies. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Master of Science degree in Plastics Engineering from The University of Massachusetts, Lowell.

Ed Gillis Joined Revolution Contraceptives, LLC in 2017. Prior to that Ed served as Founder and Chief Technical Officer of ReVENT® Medical, Inc. from 2013 to 2017 and as President and CEO of ReVENT from 2007 to 2013. Previously he served as Vice President of Research and Development for SineXus (now Intersect ENT) and Apneon, an obstructive sleep apnea company. Ed was Vice President of Engineering for Durect Corporation, an early stage pharmaceutical company working on drug delivery systems including an implantable pump for treating chronic pain. Previously, Ed worked in various positions in manufacturing and product development for EndoTex Interventional Systems, Cardiac Pathways Corporation, Spectranetics Corporation, Guidant Corporation and Baxter Healthcare. Ed is a senior level executive with proven success in early stage companies. He has built from scratch and provided leadership for early stage companies as well as R&D and manufacturing organizations. Ed received his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Masters in Plastics Engineering from The University of Massachusetts Lowell. He holds 34 U.S. patents with 100+ issued or pending worldwide.
